Qualifications
- Interest in or Prior Experience with Commercial Installation in the AV industry or Related Field Desired
- Prior Experience in Live Production and or Rigging Desired
- Prior Experience with Commercial Construction Desired
- Ability to Solder and Crimp Connectors (XLR, RJ45, TRS, BNC, and F-CONN)
- Ability to Read and Interpret Construction and AV Drawings Preferred
- Proficient in the use of Basic Hand and Power Tools
- Ability to Travel if Required
- Ability to Work at Heights, on Lifts & Ladders Required
- Must Possess a Valid Driver’s License with a Good Driving Record
- PC Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet)
- Perform Installation Task in a Timely and Quality Conscious Manner
- Ability to Think and Work Independently and Meet Necessary Deadlines
Job Summary
- With safety and quality workmanship as a priority, perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: cable pulls, cable terminations, system equipment and components, rack fabrication/wiring layout for equipment and metal fabrication. Installing LCD/ DLP video projection systems, speakers (ranging from ceiling mounted to clusters), pulling cabling and terminating A/V systems; harnessing racks, patch bays and mixing consoles; working at heights; installing components such as touch panels and speakers. The ability to trouble-shoot basic audio, video, and control systems problems is a plus. The successful candidate is self-motivated and professional and is seeking long term employment. A personal interest in technology, electronics, music, sound, lighting, video and/or security systems is preferred. The Installation Technician III will be expected to lead and direct installation crews on larger, more complex projects by coordinating and reporting progress to Project Manager ensuring projects achieve time, scope, budget, quality, safety and customer satisfaction requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform installation tasks as noted in job summary based on project scope and directives.
- Demonstrate job site leadership, mentor Lower-level Technicians on site and verify all quality of work.
- Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
- Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other installation system related tasks.

- Ability to Solder and Crimp Connectors (XLR, RJ45, TRS, BNC, and F-CONN)
- Test point to point cabling and functionality of systems.
- Test code for control and DSP systems – field load as necessary. (Preferred)
- Make minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer.
- Track, manage and secure all associated equipment and tools on jobsite.
- Work with office staff to initiate return material authorizations as needed.
- Provide site supervision of install team with direction from the Project Manager.
- Communicate daily job site status to the Project Manager and complete required job documentation as needed.
- Act as customer liaison on site per project scope and directives – direct on-site change requests to Project Manager for confirmation and final direction.
- Communicate and coordinate with other trades on site.
- Perform client training as needed.
- Travel to various job sites required.
- Other duties assigned as needed
Education and/or Experience
- Minimum of 10 years in audiovisual, electronics or related industry installation experience required.
- Formal education in Audio Visual, Electronics or related field preferred.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course required
- Valid and current AVIXA CTS General Certification required. (Or to be obtained)
- Specific industry specific and manufacturer training / certifications to meet Omega Broadcast skill/ability requirements.
- Confirmed Project Site Lead Role experience.
- Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets Omega Broadcast Driving Privileges standards.
- Ability to obtain formal approved clearances (Government or system specific) may be required.
Physical Requirements
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, be able to climb ladders up to 20 feet tall and be able to work in small spaces and on uneven surfaces. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
